At the Center for Adult Dentistry we understand that dental and medical procedures may cause anxiety. We offer several sedation methods to ensure your comfort during treatment. These include Intravenous Sedation (IV Sedation) and Oral Sedation. Our professionals are highly-trained to provide you with a relaxing and safe experience.
IV sedation is also known as intravenous sedation. It involves injecting sedatives directly into the bloodstream using a tiny needle. This method allows for precise control of the level and duration of sedation. It is best used in complex or long procedures. You can remain awake and aware, but will feel relaxed. It is possible to have no or little memory of your procedure. Patients with high levels of anxiety and those who require extensive dental work often choose this option.
Oral Sedation allows you to take prescribed medication orally before your procedure. This method is best suited for patients who have mild to moderate anxiety, or those seeking less invasive treatment. You can remain awake, but relaxed and comfortable during the procedure with oral sedation. This is a great option for patients who don't want to be given sedatives via IV.
Your well-being is the top priority at the Center for Adult Dentistry. We will work with you closely to determine the best sedation method based on your medical background, procedure complexity and personal preferences. Our team of experienced professionals will ensure your comfort and safety throughout your visit.
Do not let fear or anxiety prevent you from getting the medical or dental treatment that you need. Call us to schedule an appointment or learn more about IV and Oral Sedation. We want to make sure that your experience with us is as stress-free and comfortable as possible.
